Looking back
If you’d told my 15-year-old self—the one clearing bars as a pole vault champ in Saarland, that one day I’d be building businesses across continents, I probably would’ve just shrugged and gone back to tinkering with my BMX. Back then, I was just a kid who loved working with my hands: customizing my moped, fixing up bikes and cars, then selling the spare parts through classified ads. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was scrappy and resourceful. That instinct, to build, to hustle, to figure things out on my own, never left me.

Machines made sense to me. My father, an engineer who migrated from India in the ’60s, built much of our home by hand, and I was always there helping. He passed on both a DIY ethos and a quiet perfectionism. That mindset really shaped me.

Curiosity, and a need to test myself, took me from Saarland to Aachen, then abroad: London, Mexico, Spain. During an internship in manufacturing, I realized how repetitive it was, production calculations, Kanban loops, the same every day. It wasn’t for me. I applied to all the big consultancies, but P3 (later umlaut) stood out: it combined engineering with people, pressure, and real outcomes.

Moving to the USA for P3 wasn’t planned, but building a business there from scratch became a defining chapter and life-changing moment. From hiring our first team to landing our first big client, I discovered how much I enjoyed the thrill of winning major projects and building momentum with like-minded people.

But I made mistakes, too. There were times I took up too much space and tried to do it all. Then, I stepped back too far, hiring a team that wasn’t entrepreneurial enough for what we wanted to achieve. Eventually, I had to unlearn control and relearn the value of collaboration. That shift changed everything.
Now, what matters most is balance, between ownership and flexibility, pace and patience. I still love solving problems. I still love creating. But I’ve learned that who you build with matters just as much as what you make.

That’s what pulled me into the Räuberleiter journey from day one — trusted partners, shared ambition, and the drive to build something meaningful from the ground up. Even if I had to cheer from the sidelines at first.
Looking forward
What excites me most about working with portfolio companies is the chance to shape not just businesses, but also teams and momentum. I’m drawn to companies that are genuinely committed to building something meaningful and capable of executing. Give me an innovative, grounded team that’s open to support and ready to build something great — any day of the week.

I want to collaborate with people who don’t wait to be told what’s broken, instead, they roll up their sleeves. People who ask the hard questions and listen just as closely. That’s the foundation of lasting success. And without growth, nothing works. Growth means having control over both revenue and cost structures, but also thinking ahead: what comes after this phase of growth?

To me, culture isn’t about enforcing rules, it’s about mindset. I’m especially interested in teams ready to evolve, from founder-led hustle to disciplined entrepreneurship, without losing their edge. Integrity, trust, freedom, and fairness are core values for me.

Transformation doesn’t always mean reinvention. Often, it’s about peeling back what’s already there, spotting potential in a scrappy service business or technical team and helping them scale without losing what made them special.

At Räuberleiter, I’m here to build something meaningful, and to help others do the same. I love my hobbies, but I also want a sense of purpose. Most of my friends are still working, and I don’t want to be the guy who’s just swapping wine tips. That’s fun, but it’s not enough.

I want to stay sharp, keep my instincts alive, and show my kids what it means to be fully engaged.

Let’s get to work.
